In Rome an independent expert panel appointed by the court found that the DNA forensic evidence convicting Amanda Knox and her then boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, was contaminated.

Amanda Knox Innocent 300x222 Hope Rises for Amanda Knox Freedom: DNA on Knife and Bra Determined UnreliableRecent breakthroughs in the DNA evidence that closed the case on the Amanda Knox murder trial in Italy has the Knox defense team and family confident she will be released and home by Christmas. The lack of motive and witnesses make this case highly reliant on the forensic evidence collected by Italian officials. Now that the evidence has been found unreliable the previous verdict will most likely be overturned.

The media frenzy that ensued after the murder of Meredith Kercher in 2007 subsided once the three main suspects, Amanda Knox, Raffele Sollecito and Rudy Guede were all found guilty and convicted of killing the English student. Since their conviction, Sollecito and Knox have both filed appeals claiming their innocence.

The murder that happened in Perugia while Knox and Kercher were studying abroad and sharing a flat with three other girls has made a serious turn. Knox and Sollecito have finally caught a crucial victory in their mission to prove their innocence.

The initial DNA testing of this evidence has been found by an independent panel to be below international standards. The independent panel comprised of two professors from Rome created a report that will undoubtedly cause the Perugia Italian Court to throw out the evidence.

The report finds that evidence was improperly collected and documented, and that some pieces of evidence had no traces of real DNA from either of the two defendants. A translation of the report from the expert panel states:

DNA Testing on Dog Poop?
Dog poop sign DNA testing 248x248 custom DNA Testing on Dog Poop? DNA Dog Testing is the Latest DNA Trend

We all know that DNA testing can help re-unite family members, solve murder crimes and determine paternity. Well, the latest DNA testing trend is something you never would have guessed; the highly sophisticated procedure is being used to test dog poop!

An apartment complex in New Hampshire has recently turned to DNA dog testing in order to catch pet owners that don’t pick up after their dogs. Debbie Violette, the apartment manager at Timberwood Commons, has decided that residents must submit pet DNA samples because of the growing problem of “unscooped poop” she has noticed.

“It makes me angry. I don’t want it to get any worse and it’s just not acceptable the way it is.” –Debbie Violette

How does DNA Dog Testing work?

After the at-home DNA kits are purchased, samples of each dogs’ saliva are taken and sent into the lab where the DNA profiles are stored. Once evidence (aka poop) is found, a sample is sent in to the DNA testing laboratory where it is compared with the DNA samples on file, therefore determining who committed the canine crime.

Timberwood Commons is among a growing number of apartment complexes executing DNA dog testing programs in hopes of enforcing greater responsibility among pet owners.

Judgeperry Casey Anthony Trial: DNA Proves Incest Accusations are False

Judge Perry, losing his patients in the case

The latest update in the Casey Anthony trial:

The unsolved mystery of Caylee Anthony’s death continues as heated court room battles erupt and the case takes multiple detours in directions nowhere near an answer.

The most recent turn in the Anthony trial was when the defendant accused her own brother and father of incest, claiming she was sexually abused growing up and (to really take the light off the possibility of Casey Anthony killing her daughter) that her brother, Lee Anthony could have been Caylee’s father. If DNA matched, this case could have taken a turn for the worst.

After paternity tests were conducted on both George Anthony (Caylee’s grandfather) and Lee Anthony (Caylee’s Uncle), tests excluded both family members of having a DNA match.

Whether or not Casey and the rest of her defendant party are trying their best to divert the attention with outlandish accusations or not, there is no doubt that lies, cover-ups and sick and twisted behavior surrounds the Anthony family.

Is the defendant trying to divert the attention from herself?

As other DNA finds prove useless in the Anthony case, it might be years until answers are given as to why and how young Caylee died and who exactly was involved.

Without conclusive evidence it seems the case will drag on.

Most people know by now that DNA is a factor that can make a case or break it. Since Casey Anthony was indicted in 2008 for murdering her 2-year old daughter Caylee Anthony, DNA has been a major factor for both the defense and the prosecution. The prosecution recently brought up a paternity test, claiming incest between Casey and the men in her family. The prosecution seems to be scrambling since the latest evidence from the FBI is that the duct tape found on the body of Caylee Anthony has no evidence of blood or DNA from the defendant and mother of the child, Casey Anthony.

Two participants in the trial, Judge Perry and Prosecutor Jeff Ashton were both involved in the first use of DNA in an American court years ago. This case will obviously lean towards the favor of scientific and DNA evidence.

An FBI forensic document examiner, Lorie Gottesman, testified that she found no evidence of DNA or blood in the evidence that she examined. She did find a trace of DNA but it turned out to be her own. Gerardo Bloise, an Orange County crime scene investigator, and Heather Seubert, a chief agent at the FBI lab also testified that they found no blood or DNA but that this does not immediately implicate innocence.

Assistant State Attorney Jeff Ashton reminded the jury while questioning Seubert that it is not uncommon for there to be a lack of blood evidence in murder cases where the cause of death didn’t involve bloodshed.

“The likelihood of obtaining a DNA result does start to diminish as the body starts to decompose,” she said.

Lee Anthony and George Anthony – Who is Caylee’s Father?

The defense also brought up the paternity test conducted to test the suspicions of one FBI agent regarding incest and the actual father of Caylee Anthony. A heated set of objections were made by the prosecution against this line of questioning.

Why did they bring up the paternity? Casey’s attorney, Baez, is trying to support his claim that his client was a victim of child abuse. And that it was this sexual abuse that caused Casey Anthony to become the instinctive liar she is today.cindy george anthony 300x234 DNA and Blood NOT Found: The Latest on Casey Anthony Trial

The defense stated that this as not appropriate because Baez is aware that the test proved that neither of the Anthony men father Casey’s child.

Death Penalty

This is a capital punishment case and if convicted Casey Anthony will be put to death. The case itself has garnered massive media coverage, especially in the state of California. More recently, a fight broke out in the court room cause an early adjournment. And everyday people are camped outside the courthouse picketing, selling shirts and hoping to catch a glimpse of the action.

Do you think that Casey Anthony killed her daughter? Or do you think the defense is telling the truth when they claim that it was actually George Anthony, Casey’s father, who found Caylee drowned in the pool and then disposed of the body?

January Jones Pregnant Style Photos 6 200x300 Did Jaseon Sudeikis Admit to Being the Father of January Jones Baby?

The Mad Men star stays mum about the topic of paternity.

X-Men: The First Stand and Mad Men star, January Jones, has yet to reveal the father of her baby. There is a possibility that Jason Sudeikis, SNL star and ex-fling of January Jones, may have spilled the beans at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. “I might be a dad soon,” Sudeikis stated while hosting the award ceremony. Jones is not due until the fall but has not been shy about her pregnancy while she tours internationally to promote her role as Emma Frost in the latest X-Men blockbuster.

So is Jason Sudeikis the father or not? In an interview after the MTV Movie Awards, Sudeikis stated that he was “joking.” The couple was together for six-months; the romance became public in July of 2010 and went on before splitting in January of this year.

The 33-year old Mad Men actress made an official statement about her pregnancy in April. Since the baby is due in the fall though and they split in January, some are speculating that it couldn’t be Sudeikis.

There have also been recent rumors that the father of the baby is director, Matthew Vaughn. If this is the truth it may explain her silence, especially because Vaughn has three children with super model wife of 9 years, Claudia Schiffer.

A source told US Weekly that Jones is looking forward to being a single mother. Does this mean she has no intention of finding out the true paternity of her unborn child? Do you think January Jones already knows who the father is and is just keeping mum?

Jones could easily confirm the father of her baby with a prenatal paternity test. Early detection can provide answers as early as 10 -12 weeks into a pregnancy. Do you think January will finally reveal who the father of her baby is?
